Following my recent crime novel obsession I decided to venture in new waters for a month (OK, I am still keeping in my e-reader The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler in case I really need a mind-numbing night read <in the good sense if there is one>).

The books I chose for February are:

On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying.

A collage of documents, emails, transcripts, liveblogs, FBI reports and magazine articles, all strung together by Bee Branch, a smart and articulate 15-year-old girl, but beneath this surface playfulness is a fascinating story of one woman’s retreat from the world.

Because it reminds me a little bit of Reconstructing Amelia, which I LOVED .

“I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want”

“let me live, love, and say it well in good sentences”

Because she died like this day many years ago and because I just love everything Sylvia Plath.

Because it is said that ” [Poehler] has particularly smart advice on how to ignore the internal whispers that give rise to self-loathing; it should be piped into the girls’ changing rooms at every secondary school” and for quotes like “”Other people are not medicine””

And now I just have to go home, make myself a lovely and much needed cup of coffee and delve into my new reads! Bliss!!!!! What are you reading? Any recommendations or ideas for more books?
